A brief introduction to our Administrative Director, Jamie Mannion. She explains a little about herself and what she likes about working at United English.
Where are you from?
I am from Sharon, Ontario in Canada.
How long have you been in Mexico?
I first came to Queretaro in 2008.
How long have you been teaching English?
My first teaching job was here at United English. I started shortly after I arrived in Queretaro in 2008.
How long have you been with UE?
I started in United English in 2008 as a teacher, after a few years I became our first Blended Learning teacher when we launched our new academic system. From there I became the school manager and eventually the Academic director.
What do you like about teaching at United English?
One of the things I like most about United English is the diversity you can find amongst our staff and students. We have teachers from various countries and students from various walks of life. Most of our students are business professionals, but from all different sectors of the workforce.
What advice can you offer to language learners?
I always tell students not to be too hard on themselves. The goal is to communicate with one another, not to find perfection. Each person learns at their own pace and as long as you put forth your best effort and participate, you will get there eventually.
