Q: What time are the classes?
A: We have an entirely flexible schedule and you decide what time you would like to schedule your classes daily. The school is open from 7am to 12pm and 4pm to 9pm Mondays to Fridays* (closing at 7pm on Fridays) and on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. You choose!
Q: So, do I have to come at the same time each day?
A: Not at all. We are able to accommodate changes on a daily basis.
Q: But will the other students be at my level?
A: Yes. We do not mix levels at United English. We do have language workshops and conversation classes where two levels join but these will always be from the same level on the Common European Framework.
Q: How many students are there in each class?
A: Depending on the hour and type of class, the number of students ranges from 1 to 6. At times you will have the opportunity to have a one-on-one class with a teacher to focus on a difficult grammar topic, for example.
Q: How long is a class?
A: Each class is approximately 55 minutes.
Q: Do I have to take class one hour a day?
A: We encourage students to come 4 hours a week split into 4 days, and that is the way our system is designed. However, we are able to make exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Some people come two hours on Tuesday and two hours on Thursdays for example. It’s up to you. And of course, there is the Saturday course too, which is four straight hours in one go.
Q: In which level will I be able to start communicating and speaking in complete sentences?
A: As soon as you reach the end of Starter level, you’ll be able to produce the language on your own, constructing and answering in complete sentences.
Q: How long does it take to finish each level?
A: Each level takes fifteen weeks, or four months to complete. However, it is entirely dependent upon the commitment and dedication of the individual student. If we feel you need to repeat the level, we will let you know.
Q: What happens if I miss class? Is it possible to recuperate my missed hours?
A: Yes. You can go on-line and learn what you missed at any time. Also, if we feel you need some extra classes at the end of your level, we will recommend that to you.
Q: If for some reason I stop coming for a few months, will I be able to continue in the same level when I return?
A: It completely depends on you and your needs. If more than 6 months have passed, we usually recommend that you take the placement test again to ensure that you are placed at the correct level.
Q: I need a report. Can United English provide one?
A: Yes. We provide monthly reports which cover attendance in class and on-line work, plus academic and participation scores. However, if one of our students or a group need a report, we can produce an up-to-date one at any time.
Q: Will I get a receipt?
A: We always provide a receipt that fully complies with Mexican tax regulations.
